Sales of waterfront properties, meanwhile, rose 10.3 per cent from a year ago to 192 units in May 2015. This was the best May on record.
Year-to-date sales of waterfront properties were running 27.9 per cent ahead of the first five months of 2014.

The median price for waterfront sales was $429,000 in May 2015, rising 14.4 per cent from May 2014.
The dollar value of all residential non-waterfront sales in May 2015 totalled $44.5 million, down 23.5 per cent from the record May last year. This was still the third best May on record.
The total value of waterfront sales was $128.1 million, rising 9.3 per cent from levels in May 2014. This was the best May on record (2nd best all-time) and marked the first May to break the $120 million mark.
